Daily Velocity Filter

The Daily Velocity Filter enables you to limit the total number of transactions received each day. All transactions received that are above your established threshold are processed based on the filter action you select.
Unlike the Transaction IP Velocity Filter, this filter tracks only the total number of transactions received each day and does not use the originating IP address.
Multiple transactions that are part of the same order do not trigger this filter.
Consider the following details when configuring this filter:
  • If you select
    Authorize and hold for review
as the filter action, you should approve or void held transactions within 72 hours.
  • You should monitor or review your processing trends over several weeks to help you determine a typical daily high.
  • When a transaction triggers more than one filter, and each filter is configured with a different action, the most severe filter action is applied to the transaction. For example, suppose that you configure filter A to decline all triggered transactions, and you configure filter B to authorize but hold all triggered transactions. If a transaction triggers both filters A and B, it is declined rather than authorized and held for review.
