Enabling, Disabling, and Configuring Filters in the Advanced Fraud Detection Suite
(AFDS)
Follow these steps to enable, disable, and configure filters in AFDS.
- ChooseAccount > Account and API Settings > Advanced Fraud Detection Suite Settings.
- To enable or disable a specific filter, scroll down to the relevantfilter and clickConfigurefilter, click or tap, and click or tapConfigurefilter, tap., and tapConfigure
- Toggle the status toEnabledorNot enabledas desired.
- Configure the filter if it is enabled:
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
- For the Daily Velocity Filter, enter the maximum number of daily transactions, and select the action to apply to transactions that exceed the daily limit. If you are not sure how to set this filter, evaluate your weekly or monthly transaction volume and determine the average number of transactions you are likely to process in a day.
- For the Hourly Velocity Filter, enter the maximum number of hourly transactions, and select the action to apply to transactions that exceed the hourly limit.
- If you are not sure how to set this filter, evaluate your weekly or monthly transaction volume and determine the average number of transactions you are likely to process in an hour.
- For the Suspicious Transaction Filter, select the action to apply ifAuthorize.netdetermines that the transaction is suspicious.
- For the Transaction IP Velocity Filter, enter the number of attempts allowed from an IP address each hour. If you have IP addresses that you do not want filtered, enter the IP address andclickclick or taptapAdd to list. Select the action to apply to transactions that exceed the number of attempts allowed from an IP address.
- For the Enhanced AVS Handling Filter, for each AVS response code, select an action from the response code's menu.
- For the Enhanced CVV Handling Filter, for each card code response, select an action from the response code's menu.
- For the Amount Filter, enter the minimum and maximum amounts allowed, and select the action to apply if a transaction is smaller than the minimum amount or larger than the maximum amount.If you allow $0 authorizations, set the minimum to "0". For the maximum transaction amount, determine the amount based on the highest transaction amounts you have processed in the past.If you add more products or services, adjust the maximum transaction amount as appropriate.
- For the Shipping Address Verification Filter, select the action to apply if a shipping address is not a valid mailing address.
- For the IP-Shipping Address Mismatch Filter, select the action to apply if the shipping address does not match the mailing address connected to the customer's IP address.
- For the Regional IP Address Filter, enter into the search bar the geographic region or country to filter, and select an action from the region or country's menu.
- For the Shipping-Billing Mismatch Filter, selection the action to apply if the shipping address does not match the billing address.
- For Authorized API IP Addresses, enter the authorized server IP address andclickclick or taptapAdd to list.
- For IP Address Blocking, enter the server IP address or IP address range that you want to block andclickclick or taptapAdd to list.
- ClickClick or tapTapSave, orclickclick or taptapCancelif you do not want to save your changes.
RESULT
Your configuration settings are saved.
